1. Information We Collect
Account information: name, email, phone (optional), role, organization, bio, and profile details you provide.
Submission information: film title, runtime, genre, submission materials, and related metadata (filmmakers).
Communications: messages you send through the Platform, and your interactions with automated features including Spielberg AI.
Usage data: log-in times, pages visited, and device/browser information.
Sponsor/partner information: organization details, sponsorship level, and communications related to partnership.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: operate your account and the Platform; process film submissions; communicate essential account and event information; provide the Spielberg AI assistant; improve the Platform; and, where you've separately consented, send marketing communications.
3. Consent for Marketing Communications
Agreeing to our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy is required to create an account. It does not by itself opt you into marketing emails or SMS. Marketing consent is requested and recorded separately and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting your account.
4. How We Share Information
We share information with: Service providers who help us operate the Platform (Brevo for email delivery, Twilio for SMS, Supabase for data storage and hosting, OpenAI for AI-assisted features); Sponsors, only where you have specifically consented to be connected with sponsor programs; Legal authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. AI Features
The Spielberg AI assistant processes your messages to generate responses. Conversations may be used to improve the assistant's usefulness for the festival. Do not share sensitive personal information you don't want processed by an AI system.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, security, and record-keeping purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to opt out of marketing communications. To exercise these rights, contact
info@filmfaster48.com. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.
8. Children's Privacy
Festee is not directed at children under 13. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it. Users 13–17 must have a parent or guardian's involvement per our Terms of Use.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Cookies
The Platform may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and improve functionality.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated, and the effective date above will be updated.
